On November 28, 2023, it was reported: a Caucasian male with a black hoodie in a white car with a black hood and tinted windows waved at a student then followed her from the bus stop.

This is Principal Juan Ortiz with an important note for families.
On 11/28/23, there was an incident near Aggeler High School involving a suspicious Caucasian male with a black hoodie in a white car with a black hood and tinted windows waved at a student then followed her from the bus stop at Roscoe Blvd. & De Soto Ave. to the bus stop at Plummer St. and De Soto Ave. and then to Aggeler High School.
Staff immediately responded and secured the campus. They are investigating the incident further in accordance with Los Angeles Unified policy. They also requested the assistance of the Los Angeles School School Police Department. They are investigating this incident further.
We take the safety of our students very seriously. All incidents that impact the safety of our school community are immediately and thoroughly investigated by the school administration, local law enforcement, and district personnel, as applicable. We also encourage everyone to always follow the District’s message: if you see something, say something. We would like to take this time to remind everyone to report concerning behavior to our staff or local
authorities. The Los Angeles School Police Department’s communication center may be reached at 213.625.6631. Emergencies should always be directed to 9-1-1.

The safety practices below should be shared in the BBC message on your website and on your
weekly messages to families.
• Avoid walking alone
• Never take a ride with or walk with a stranger
• If a stranger approaches or attempts to get the child into a vehicle, children should scream and
run for help
• Students should use precautionary measures, even while waiting inside of the school yard,
until parents arrive
• Parents and students should maintain good communication about pick-up/drop-off times and
locations
• Never walk in an isolated area or alley
• Never walk with head phones on
• See something, say something (always report any safety concerns to an adult immediately)
• Evite caminar solo
